CHANGE LOG
XABCD Performance Indicator
A focused fix for the free XABCD Performance indicator: the candlestick lag coloring now responds instantly when you change its mode or its colors from the settings window, instead of leaving the bars stuck on their previous color.
- Fixed the Candlestick Threshold Color setting (Off, Full Color, Lag Bars Only) doing nothing when changed from the settings window ... the bars kept their previous coloring until the indicator was reloaded, and switching the mode now repaints the chart straight away
- Fixed the lag threshold colors (No Lag, Tiny Lag, High Lag) not updating candles that were already drawn ... editing a color now recolors the existing bars right away instead of only future ones
A major update to the free XABCD Performance indicator: a new Clock Offset and Windows Time Sync check, a personalized Recommendations engine with session-aware anomaly detection, an Overall Health score that blends every metric into one number, off-screen Discord and Slack alerts, a brand-new tabbed settings window with save/load templates, a much faster add-to-chart, and a critical OneDrive warning.
- Overall Health score ... a single 0 to 100% score, with a colored bar, that blends every available metric (lag, CPU, GPU, RAM, disk usage and queue, network latency, jitter, packet loss, data-feed rate, temperatures, page file, Wi-Fi, and broker connection) into one trade-readiness number. Metrics your machine does not expose are dropped automatically and the score reweights so it stays fair
- Recommendations box ... after about five minutes of watching your system, the tool lists personal, point-form suggestions using your actual numbers for anything worth improving. Items are colored by urgency, the single most important one is restated as a "Top priority" headline, and a refresh control restarts the analysis on demand
- Session-aware anomaly detection ... the recommendations now flag problems relative to your own session baseline, such as free RAM trending down, NinjaTrader's memory creeping up, or lag spiking well above your normal, not just against fixed thresholds
- Critical OneDrive warning ... if NinjaTrader is running from a OneDrive folder, the tool flags it as critical and pins it to the top of the recommendations. OneDrive's sync can lock your quote and data files mid-write, delaying quotes and stalling fills, so the Health score is held at a deep-red level until you move NinjaTrader to a local drive
- Clock Offset metric ... shows how far your PC's clock is from true (NTP) time, refreshed live on every tick. Measurement only ... it never touches your Windows clock
- Windows Time Sync status ... shows whether Windows is set to sync with an internet time server and when it last synced, so you can spot a drifting clock before it affects your timestamps. Read-only
- Off-screen webhook alerts ... paste a Discord or Slack incoming-webhook URL and get a message (for example, on your phone) when a critical issue is detected, such as pinned CPU, low memory, packet loss, or a disconnected feed. Limited to at most one alert every 15 minutes
- Custom settings window ... a tabbed, two-column window, opened from the rainbow wrench icon on the panel or from Control Center → New → XABCD Suite, that replaces NinjaTrader's plain property grid. Includes color-wheel pickers, sliders with live value readouts and units, hover tooltips on every setting, a search box, a zoom slider, and bordered cards that group related settings
- Templates ... Save, Save as Default, and Load buttons. The tool always applies your default the moment it is added to a chart (creating one from your current settings the first time), so your colors, fonts, thresholds, and toggles follow you everywhere ... the same way the Position Tool works
- Font and alert-sound dropdowns ... pick the panel font from a dropdown of installed fonts, and the high-alert sound from the .wav and .mp3 files already in your NinjaTrader 8 Sounds folder, instead of typing names by hand
- More XABCD tools ... a More Tools tab in the settings window, plus an occasional one-line on-chart tip, suggesting other XABCD tools you do not already own (it only ever lists tools you are missing)
- Much faster to add to a chart ... the slow system-counter, GPU, and temperature setup now runs on a background worker instead of freezing the moment you drop the indicator on a chart, so the panel appears and responds immediately
- Rainbow wrench beside the bell ... the settings wrench now sits next to the alert bell, painted in the XABCD rainbow gradient, and stays on-screen no matter which corner the panel is anchored to
- One clear place for settings ... every setting is now hidden from NinjaTrader's native property grid so the custom window is the single place to configure the tool, and changes apply instantly as you make them
- Clearer recommendations styling ... urgent items show in red and amber, low-priority items in a neutral grey, and the whole box is framed as a titled card with comfortable padding so the advice is easy to scan
- Mini Mode now includes the score and advice ... the compact badge view shows the Health % and the recommendations, not just the badge
- Cleaner settings layout ... properties were regrouped into smaller, clearer categories, whole-number sliders drop the trailing ".0", and a Close button with an "applies instantly" note was added to the footer
- Save as Default now stores every setting ... all your toggles, thresholds, trading style, fonts, and colors, instead of only the colors and font
- Saved templates now load in the correct order, so a stored trading-style preset no longer overwrites your own custom thresholds when the template is applied
- Fixed "Show Lag Information" set to off hiding too much ... it now hides only the machine time, chart time, lag time, clock offset, and time-sync lines, and no longer removes the settings wrench or the recommendations box
- Fixed turning a metric off leaving a blank gap or letting the rows beneath it overlap ... the panel now closes the space cleanly
- Fixed the settings window occasionally failing to open from the chart, and removed the stray "Close Multiple Tabs?" prompt that appeared when closing it
The original on-chart performance monitor that the v1.7.0.20 overhaul builds on: live system and connection readouts, compact display modes, per-metric trend graphs, audio and popup alerts, and an end-of-day session summary.
- On-chart performance panel with live readouts of the conditions that affect order timing ... CPU and GPU usage, available RAM, disk usage, network latency, data-feed transfer rate, and your machine, chart, and lag time
- Compact display modes ... Mini Mode (a small Health badge you click to expand) and Invisible Mode (badge only) to keep the chart clean
- Per-metric trend graphs ... optional on-chart sparkline windows so you can see where a metric is heading, not just its current value
- Audio and popup alerts with a Quiet Mode time window, plus a bell icon on the panel to mute alerts at a click
- Candlestick lag coloring ... optionally tint bars by lag so you can see at a glance when your data is falling behind
- Light and dark theme support and a configurable display font
- End-of-day session summary that tracks your system's performance over the trading day
